abstract

  • One strategy that Colombia has been implemented to ensure the continued development of its economy is the negotiation of trade agreements, particularly among countries with stronger and developed economies, such as United States, South Korea and the European Union. All with the aim that our small and medium enterprises (SMEs) get involved in the issue of globalization and to become competent in the international market, increasing foreign direct investment and reducing unemployment. Hence, an investigation of consumer profiles for some of the countries which Colombia has signed trade agreements, may be useful for the entrepreneur to obtain a depth study in which strategies and opportunities are identified, mostly for those who are threatened by this type of agreement or for those who are interested in entering the globalized world and can thus be competent worldwide. Also, this paper will seek to identify the top products demanded by the countries of study and thus help identify opportunities in every market.
