abstract

  • This research analyzes how the construction of gender has influenced decisions of a group of trans men in Bogota to adjust and change their body to their identity. This approach made from experiences of everyday life and feeling of inhabiting a wrong body, by failing to comply with social norms of stereotypes gender. As a complement, a legal context in Colombia to a LGBT issue offered. The main result of this study is that, although transactivism discourse of readjusting and change body to social norm has gained more strength few years ago, a critical view is necessary were gender self-identification is not a only way, but treatment that actually relieve body’s discomforts are required.
