This case study aims to analyze the relations of the activity of the FIFA with the sovereignty of a State, having as the principal object of study the World Cup in South Africa 2010. Also, attempts to analyze the role and the categorization of the FIFA in two topics, in the international relations, and in the international law. In order to do that, along this paper it is exposed the principal aspects in the relation between nontraditional actors and the sovereign States, will be identified the link between the FIFA and the Soft Law. Finally, it will be described the tangible actions that the FIFA did and those that somehow affected the South African sovereignty.
