abstract

  • Opportunity Youth are the group of young people between 14 and 28 who neither study nor work (better known as Neets), as well as those who are working informally. In Bogotá, young people with potential represent 35.8% of young people, the majority being women who live in stratum 2 homes, only 59% have finished high school, and whose labor informality amounts to 58%. The objective of this study is to determine the economic and social value represented by young people with potential in Bogotá, which includes a sensitivity analysis based on their socioeconomic differences, and which allows identifying the economic benefits of providing public-private support through access to education and better job opportunities.
