abstract

  • This study is concerned with thinking about the notion of morality, following the point of view of Immanuel Kant and Sigmund Freud, in order to trace the theoretical and philosophical foundations that allow us to answer the question: by virtue of what do we comply with laws? moral? What is the motivation that leads us to fulfill the duty? Although we are beings who have inclinations, desires and appetites, what impels us to comply with laws and to govern our actions according to them? Although, between Kant and Freud, there is an enormous distance around how they understand the justification and scope of the moral, this work aims to show that both authors show how the moral law determines human actions and how does. It should be noted that, although the authors' point of view, at first does not coincide, the possibility of opening to disparity and difference in two ways is considered important: one, to the difference between the authors in relation to to the motivation that we have to comply with the moral law, and two, to the difference in the assumptions that are exposed here.
