abstract

  • The different economic sectors practice many activities that promote the socio-economic growth of every country, though such activities have a significant impact on an environmental level, such as irreversible changes both physical and chemical of the planet. Nowadays companies and organizations have begun to control more responsibly their processes and operations, seeking not only to mitigate the negative impacts caused to both environment and society, but the optimal use of physical and economical resources. The following study aims to evaluate the operations carried out in a civil engineering project in order to identify what are the main contaminating activities involved, on the other hand it will be noted how Colombian standards and legislation applies and exercises control upon each of the activities identified, finally different solutions and alternatives for the industry to implement are proposed. To achieve study objectives different tools that facilitated the collection of data and information were used such as interviews with members and participants of civil engineering, field visits, data collection of similar studies, implementation of an environmental aspects and impacts matrix and environmental chips, among others. Results obtained allow understanding that it is inevitable for this industry not to generate certain contamination and negative impact, besides they allow identifying country regulations regarding environmental control are outdated, determining factor when proposing alternatives that seek both the facilitation of construction industry activities along the country and minimize the most negative environmental impacts caused.
