  • It is fashionable to be sustainable, it is fashionable to recycle it investigates the use of recycled materials in the Colombian textile industry, being an investigation on sustainable fashion and the use of recycled materials as an alternative to the problems of pollution and waste promoted by the industry textile in Colombia. This research is useful to resolve thematic gaps in the fashion industry in the Colombian context. As well as to propose an alternative for the industry, which could be the clothing technique of the 21st century and which responds to the demands of the time. Ana Martínez Barreiro explains that, according to the sociology of clothing, the practices of the fashion industry are conditioned by the time in which they are presented (Martínez, 2004). Therefore, it can be highlighted that the current needs of society are aimed at reducing environmental impact, preserving resources for future generations and innovating as a condition of fashion.
