abstract

  • The patient safety health system has evolved from the application of manual methods to the database description of the support tools, showing the lack of a lack of an intelligent management system that facilitates the timely response to the customer, therefore, this research developed a Knowledge Management System for patient safety in order to solve the main problems in quality and care in health by Benefit Plan Management Entities – EAPB, Health Service Provider Institutions, Special Patient Transportation Services, independent professionals, and interaction of such information with Departmental, District and Municipal Health Entities, National Institutes of Health and Technical Agency for High Cost Account Management. Development began with the characterization of the current situation through the method of technological quantitative description based on a cascading description, promoting the use of digital technologies in health, expanding health information systems, and collecting strict surveillance data. In this way, the notification of risks, adverse events and other indicators of mandatory compliance and reporting to the territorial health authorities in Colombia could be facilitated. Contributing to the improvement and implementation of safe care practices through the monitoring of safety and quality management indicators in patient care and their effective analysis of such adverse events.
