  • Cross sectional study which objective is to identify signs and symptoms prevalence of musculoskeletal disorder MSD in underground coal mines workers of five municipalities of Ubate Region in Cundinamarca 2012-2013. MSD are one of most common occupational diseases all around the world. Specifically in Colombia they represent 82% of occupational diseases. Mining at Ubate Region is the principal source of production and employ generation. Colombia has a scarce of literature about signs and symptoms of MSD and its association with occupational risk factors of mining activities. It was taken into account a population of 1901 workers that belong to 556 mining enterprises, which sample selection was stratified proportional allowanced by conglomerated random selection and bietapic, that belongs to 215 mining workers of 11 selected enterprises whom were applied Nordic Questionnaire and standardized clinical test, to evaluate sign and symptoms of MSD presence. Results showed that the most sign and symptoms MSD prevalence was at shoulders and lumbar regions, which were associated to occupational risk factor as manual type of extraction and downloading and front line activities in charges.
