abstract

  • The present academic article seeks to analyze cultural practices and methods of nonviolent resistance used by Comisiones por la Vida del Agua (CVA) from Valparaiso and RED UNÍOS Association from San Vicente del Caguán in order to preserve their territories against oil policies in the department of Caqueta between 2010 and 2014. This research seeks to explain how these actions, related to the definition of Gene Sharp as nonviolent resistance, have built an awarness of preservation in some communities in the department through exercise of protest, persuasion, intervention and non cooperation. To achieve this goal an analysis of documents from the official press in the department of Caqueta, social networks of the mentioned organizations and a fieldwork based on semi-structured interviews to cooperators was made.
