The development of ports in Colombian has begun been important in the new economic panorama, in the past few year Colombia has signed different commercial agreement that increase the importations and exportation of goods, as a consequence Colombia needs the infrastructure in order to respond to the increase of goods. The different ports that Colombia got in the Caribbean are important economically talking, each port got an aspect to highlight; Santa Marta port is the best one in Coal, the port of Cartagena is the biggest one from the Caribbean and also is the one that got more containers pear year and in the port of Barranquilla in the one that received more charge of grains. Is important to know that this one got a really big potential. Having the previous information, we decided to develop the following work in order to propose aspects of improvements to the port of Barranquilla after we visit the port, different topic that need to be improved. For example important aspects as the draught, the type of charge and the machinery, among others; are important in order to improve the development of the Port.
