abstract

  • This article analyzes the relationships between corporality, plasticity and construction of identity narratives about masculinities and feminities in the social and biological experience of pregnancy in a trans couple in Bogotá. Following the feminist studies of science and technologyperformativity (HarawayButler, 19862017), the analysis of transition experiences such as pregnancy offers an opportunity to make visible the plasticity and performativity of the body and the mechanisms by which gender roles and expectations are constructed . Like all bodily and sexed experience, trans identity narratives are marked by a constant transition of biological, medical and identity experiences. This article offers an approach received in interviews to a trans couple who decides to get pregnant.
