This research describe the perceptions of ethical leadership in a company of construction in Bogotá, Colombia. Eighty-two employees from the design and construction area participated in the study, responding to the ELW (Ethical Leadership at Work) instrument. The characteristics of the ethical behavior of the leaders are described, according to the perception of the employees, (integrity, ethical guidance, orientation to people, shared power, clarification of roles and awareness of sustainability). The study also allowed to demonstrate that the ELW is a valid and reliable multidimensional measurement instrument. The results of the analysis indicated a final version of 63 items with an internal consistency index of 0.98. According to the results obtained in the study, it was identified that ethical leadership is perceived as integral, people-oriented, ethically oriented and with a high concern for sustainability. Ethical leadership obtains 67% positive perception, compared to 33% negative perception of employees towards their leaders, specifically in the area of design.
