  • This research work aims to determine strategies to reduce the environmental effect deriving from the misuse of the plastic bag, which is why it is important to know in the first instance that it is a plastic, that is compound and what is the production process of the plastic bag. For this the company Bermuplast Ldta, opens the doors of its plant, to know closely the process of elaboration of the plastic bag, the risks and the conditions in which it must be carried out. Subsequently, the environmental effects of the plastic bag are investigated and analyzed from their production to post-consumption, as plastic has been idolized as one of the materials with the highest rate of pollution and environmental impact. In addition, the recycling methods currently used and government campaigns and media committed to preserving the environment. For the purposes of this research work, the Jumbo supermarkets of the Chilean multinational Cencosud are presented as a practical case to study the corporate social responsibility and its commitment to the new Colombian regulations for the reasonable use of the plastic bag that was launched through resolution 668 of 2016 and tax reform in order to collect a tax on the use of the plastic bag. Taking into account the topics to be developed in this research it is possible to establish not only the environmental impact related to the production of the plastic bag and its excessive use, but also to know all the alternatives and solutions to this problem, through the social inclusion and the responsibility of the large areas and establishments. Creating changes in consumer habits through the new regulation.
