This document aims to explore advancements in the mobile telephone sector in Colombia, form its beginnings to the present, with the goal of generating future possibility scenarios. The Micmac (Prospective Structural Analysis) and Smic (Impacts Interconnected Arrays system) prospective tools and opinions provided by leaders in the sector, are the principal basis for the development of this document.Governmental entities, the CTR (Telecommunications Regulatory Commission), and leaders of the mobile telephone sector, among others, have raised their awareness that innovation is the basis for success in this type of organization and, for this reason, they have worked on improving its regulation, thus ensuring that the development of offered products and services become increasingly better, and are detrimental to the environment and its users in lesser measures.This sub-sector in telecommunications is the most dynamic and the one with the greatest growth potential. However, it is also affected by economic conditions of the market, political instability, imports and exports derived from commercial treaties, among other variables. The best-case scenario would facilitate the presentation of products using leading technology, and services with the best possible coverage and access, at low prices.
