This research has sought to analyze the operationalization of the determinants of social mobility of the middle class with access to higher education and the effects of same in their life trajectories in the city of Bogotá. These mechanisms, expressed to way of capital, suggest an approach from a constructivist structural perspective. To achieve this purpose, the causes of the lack of research on middle classes in Colombia, making a detailed chronological review that goes back to classical studies and finalizes in the review of theoretical contemporary studies relational, not forgetting also the results of work in Latin America on classes means and social mobility. Likewise, this research studies the problems of class delimitation and the theoretical proposals to demarcate the heterogeneous classes middle. Finally, through six life stories of people belonging to this social class and with access to higher education it is possible to demonstrate his vision of world, tensions, paradoxes between the discourses and dispositions of the interviewees, and the strategies that they use to develop inside the social space.
