This thesis historically addresses the proposal of the Antioqueño artist Francisco Antonio Cano, addressing the trajectory of the history of Colombian art, passing through his life, the sociocultural context of modernism in Colombia and Latin America, to finally address some iconographic and iconological analyzes that support the transition from an academic art to the first modern Colombian art of the early twentieth century.
