This study consists on analyzing the way the company Harinera Pardo S. A. operates; theinvestments and decisions made. As well as analyzing the behavior of the agro-industrialsector, specifically wheat which is the area where the company develops its activities. And finally, understanding the different factors that took this company to a financial crisis. Based on the concept of crisis that Martin (2008) quotes, crisis can be generated byinternal issues, such as commercial, production, direction and quality problems, inadequate infrastructure cost, investments, and so on or external issues such as market changes, globalization, competitors, and others. We have agreed on mentioning this author because his vision about the concept of crisis involves several factors that make part of this study. With this study it is expected to learn from a company of the actual sector, that falling into a financial crisis doesn’t necessarily means coming to its end, but that it could take an adequate restructuration it is possible to face and overcome the difficulties that the company is going through. So that, we must take into account the influence of the international market in the 90’s and the situation given in the area, as well as the in-house behavior during the same period of time before the company outbreak. Besides, we will present the opinions and strategies used by Rafael Pardo, president of Harinera Pardo, as once they were put in place among those years of financial crisis, finally achieved its recovery on 2009. The study is was done by three Business Administration and International Business Management students from Universidad del Rosario. The investigation to be carried out covers management, business crisis and recovery topics.
