The purpose of this article is to describe the operation of the Sustainability area of Alpina S.A. in Colombia, as part of a research project to understand the operation of the area. The methods of data collection were semi-structured interviews and the collection through secondary sources. In order to achieve the objective, indicators grouped into four variables were defined: Area Evolution, Strategic Platform, Work Division and Work Coordination. The collected information was codified and then classified according to the analysis variables. The results state that the Sustainability Area operates transversally in the organization and is integrated into the business strategy, being a fundamental part in decisions and projects in different areas of the company.
