This document seeks to recognize the impact of political alignments in closed elections, between mayors and governors, on the number of projects and average amount of resources approved through the municipal Collegiate Body of Administration and Decision (OCAD); one of the project approval mechanisms of the General Royalties System. For this, a Discontinuous Regression model was used, where the allocation to treatment is determined by the difference in the proportion of votes obtained during the territorial elections of 2011 and 2015. The results suggest that in the aggregate of projects and amount of resources approved , the partisan alignment of local rulers does not interfere with the project approval mechanism. However, differential impacts are recognized by government year and sector.
