  • The purpose of this study is to review the progress in environmental management to serve as a reference for improvements and adjustments in the implementation of an Environmental Management System, integrated with Social Responsibility based on international standards ISO 14.001:2015 and ISO 26.000:2010 at the Fundación Hospital San Carlos, based on the strategies given in the social and environmental field of successful cases in the sector, analyzed within the pillars of sustainable development and a situational diagnosis of the organization in the environmental and social issue, obtaining inputs used in the methodology of Analytical Hierarchy Process- AHP, to develop the implementation proposal that contains elements in common of the two systems, which when implemented as a complement to the positive findings in the diagnosis of the hospital ensures for the institution, the articulated management of the environmental with the social component. Also; it is hoped that this work, given the auscultation of benchmarks in the GLOBAL NETWORK, will provide readers and support organizations similar to the Fundación Hospital San Carlos, which would be delivering a knowledge product not only to the hospital but also to the academy and other companies in the sector that seek to integrate and promote sustainable development as a business philosophy.
