  • This research aims to analyze how military actions made by North Korea havechanged the Security and Defense policy of Japan since 2003. Furthermore, ittries to analyze how those actions taken by the regime in North Korea have ledJapanese State to increase its military power, improving their self-defense forces.Likewise, the research project will analyze how the North Korean threat hascreated within Japanese government the idea for making an offensive army andthe use of nuclear energy for weapons purposes. This is not forgetting that themilitary increase has not changed the pacifist aim of the Japanese security policyfor solving problems. Finally, the research project will use the theories ofconstructivism and regional security complex in order to see how the NorthKorean threat has been built and understanding the security dynamics betweenJapan and North Korea.
