In the context of globalization, change and more aggressive environments for organizations, is necessary to know the impact of the supply chain management on organizational performance and how the chain upgrading enables organizations to stay in the Market (Jacoby 2009). This trend applies for all the organizations around the world, in the case of Colombian organizations it´s necesary an academic work to make an analysis of the impacts of supply chains in organizational performance (Ministerio de Transporte, Ministerio de Comercio, DIAN, & DNP, 2008).An example of this is the fact that Colombia is in 97th in the ranking of logistics performance done by the World Bank in 2014 (World Bank 2014). This shows the need to improve logistics processes in the country by the improving of supply chains, allowing greater efficiency and responsiveness to the global demands of different markets in an aggressive and changing environment. Therefore it´s necesary understand the of the organizational performance and the management of the supply chain in the Colombian context.Therefore through a literature review we gonna search the points of convergence between organizational performance and supply chain, using the Balanced Scorecard model to analyze from a financial, customer, internal processes and innovation and organizational learning the activities involving the supply chain: procurement, production and distribution.
