Infraestructuras verdes en Medellín y Cartagena: análisis de la percepción ciudadana e impacto de políticas públicas en su adopción y funcionamiento
Thesis
The thesis titled Green Infrastructure in Medellín and Cartagena: Analysis of Citizen Perception and the Impact of Public Policies on Their Adoption and Functioning discusses the importance of green infrastructure in sustainable urban development in the cities of Medellín and Cartagena, Colombia. Through a mixed-methods approach, including surveys and interviews, the study explores how the population and local authorities perceive these infrastructures and the impact of public policies on their adoption. The results show that while there is high awareness of the environmental benefits of green infrastructures, such as green roofs and facades, significant barriers to their implementation remain, including the lack of economic incentives and adequate regulations. The study suggests that a combination of environmental education, effective public policies, and community participation is crucial to fostering a more sustainable urban environment. Strategies for financing, public-private collaboration, and educational programs are proposed to increase awareness and citizen engagement with green infrastructures.
