Potatoes play a significant role in world’s feeding. It’s an important source o work and income in the country areas. In Colombia, it’s the main farming activity in the zone called “andina” developed by nearly 90.000 families. It is characterized by the intensive use of fertilizers and pesticides, high not qualified work, and for being a dispersed, isolated of small producers with limited technology.The model management for the potato sector in Cundinamarca was divided in tow primary process from which it goes off the land preparation, the negotiation and buying of the seed, planting the seed, inspection and control of the crop, harvest, storage, transportation, selling to intermediates and finally placing the product in the distribution channels.
