  • Objective: To determine the cardiovascular risk to workers of a company of hydrocarbons (EH) by applying the Framingham REGICOR scale during 2014.Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study type from the records of 700 workers of an oil company that had an employment history with complete information.Results: Mean age was 33.6 years (σ 9.1). Prevalence of hypertension (1.4%), smoking (5.7%), habit of drinking liquor (66.4%) and overweight (61.6%) was found. The prevalence of hypertension and smoking was 1.71% and 5.7% respectively, 39.00% hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia of 30.14% and 20.00% of workers are obese. 3.00% (21) of workers were classified as moderate risk of ischemic or hemorrhagic event within a period of 10 years.Although no workers were classified as high risk, it is recommended activities are conducted aiming to workers generate awareness about the risks of developing a cardiovascular event if lifestyles are not changed.
