  • University extension seeks a dialogical interaction with society and its surroundings. It is a process of educational intervention, which impacts on the soil and the socio-economic development of the communities, as the formation of the students. The purpose of the work is to carry out an appreciation of the management of university extension services. Describe the results of the evaluation analysis through the indicators of management, quality and impact of university extension, referred to in the function of efficiency and effectiveness in 43 Higher Education Institutions (IES) of the Colombian Association of Universities - ASCUN. It is concluded that the indicators that form and midway the HEIs are focused on the management of measures, the fulfillment of goals and products of the services provided in the different academic areas. They are the indicators that are formulated to measure the results and impacts of the activities or services they provide. More than 72% of them have a system of indicators for evaluating extension activities, other than the one required by the National Higher Education Information System (SNIES) in Colombia. The responsibilities that are most evident in the areas of extension are extension services, advisory and consulting services, continuing and continuing education.
