The interest of the research study was based on data collected dithiocarbamates occupational exposure to pesticides in the flower industry . Objective: To determine exposure levels dithiocarbamate fungicides and their relationship to the working conditions of workers in the flower industry in Sabana de Bogotá DC (Cundinamarca ) and Rionegro (Antioquia ) , Colombia , in 2011. Materials and Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted in 358 out of a total of 3700 employees in 27 companies in the floriculture sector 12 located in Sabana Bogotá ( Colombia) and 3 in Rionegro (Antioquia ) . Information on working conditions and history of exposure of the population was secluded and exposure levels dithiocarbamate fungicides in urine sample were determined by Montesano method.Conclusions: This study describes how they are used and the levels of exposure to ETU dithiocarbamate fungicides in the flower industry in Colombia. Recommendations are given for timing of re- entry into the culture according to the toxicological category of products, management and proposes measures to reduce exposure of workers, the community and the environment.
