abstract

  • This article approaches the life histories of three individuals who, through narratives about their experiences in prison and their post-penitentiary period, relate the incidence of what they lived through and the impact on family relationships, education, work, spirituality and the consumption of psychoactive substances, showing something of the transformations that these two moments left in each dimension. These experiences reveal some of the social supports and challenges, showing how each element can be particular or contradictory, and how life in prison and in freedom present unique challenges for each individual and his or her resocialization process.
