We performed a cost benefit study for the treatment of thrombocytopenia in patients with blood dyscrasias, comparing two blood blood: platelets and platelet apheresis standard. The study was conducted at the Blood Bank Clinic Colsanitas SA, with information obtained on patients who were transfused with these components during the years 2009 to 2010.Both blood showed a level of adequate therapeutic response, it was shown that patients transfused with apheresis platelets, required to be transfused less often transfused group compared with standard platelets, representing an advantage over the antigenic exposure of blood transfused, the need transfusions require close and in the cost of hospital treatment for the Bank.Arises the need for further prospective studies in Transfusion Services and Blood Bank, as determined by immuno-genetics of HLA alloimmunization, developing HPA antigen from exposure to asses the outcome, manage risks inherent in the transfusion and promote the production of certain blood product.
