This research has as main objective to analyze the dynamics of local development of the Pacific Coast mining district during the period 2008-2012 from the extractive model, in order to demonstrate that, despite the mining boom during these governments, growth activity and capital inflows to these municipalities, local development is limited to the dynamics of the internal armed conflict and state neglect that has existed for excellence in this area. Therefore, from the use of qualitative method, will be used studies and reports of primary and secondary sources, which allow an explanatory analysis of this economic and social phenomenon.
