abstract

  • Down syndrome is a genetic condition product of an alteration in the number of chromosomes in which there is an extra 21 chromosomes as a result of an error not dysfunctional (Moreno-Vivot, 2012). From the point of view behavioral and cognitive, people with Down syndrome have characteristics that placed them at a level lower than the population type performance. Profiles of development although they are characteristic of everyone have aspects in common (Grieco, Pulsifer, Seligsohn, Skotko & Schwartz, 2015). Executive function, refers to a set of skills that allow the individual to adapt to new situations to perform a task. These skills require a series of mental processes for its development (Rosselli, Jurado and Matute, 2008). The available literature allows you to establish that the Executive function is altered in people with Down syndrome. These difficulties may be inherent in the cognitive dysfunction that occurs in this population. The purpose of this work is to make a review focused on studies and the development of executive functions in this population.
