abstract

  • In Colombia the management of patients in different hospital services have presented difficulties in fighting bacterial infections and resistance of the same, the Staphylococcus aureus Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, have shown progress in creating generations resistant and have participated with Salmonella and B.cereus ETAS in outbreaks as major causative organisms. In the present study we analyzed the essential oil Conobea scoparioides to evaluate their activity against five strains of bacteria. AE was obtained and prepared to apply test bacteria and non-parametric sensitivity to determine the percentage of inhibition, evaluation of MIC and compare the effectiveness of the oil vs. streptomycinThe essential oil presented activity mainly against B. cereus with the highest% inhibition and an MIC of 3.2 ug / ml, the case presented different P. aeruginosa with a% of growth above 50%, with a MIC of 16.7 ug / ml. Finally we can conclude that there was greater activity against gram positive and the case of B. cereus in gram-negative with MIC.These results allow to compare the activity conobea recent studies under the same method to help identify new plants with biological activity and conobea perceive that the greater proportion is effective against gram positive.
