  • The aim of this chapter is to show the results of investigation about of performance of health service networks in different dimensions related to access, coordination and quality of care in two chronic diseases such as breast cancer and diabetes in Colombia, important pathologies for their incidence and impact as well as by the need for effective coordination mechanisms for adequate attention to the health system users. Therefore, we did the analysis of the performance in two networks of health care through the attention for users with confirmed diagnosis of breast cancer, who are covered by network from the contributory health regime in some cases and others by network from the subsidized health regime. These networks were also considered for the analysis of performance in attention to users with confirmed diagnosis of diabetes, in which case, we added other network that belongs to subsidized system with operating area in the municipality of Soacha,while the previous have their influence in Bogota city. The primary source of data were the medical history and them were extracted according to certain indicators selected by the research team through a prior validation process and for its importance to demonstrate the performance of networks of health services in the dimensions outlined above. The results of the study are shown, from which, we offers a brief discussion and conclusions about them.
