abstract

  • Colombia has been characterized as a violent country in which the search for peace has been present for several generations. Violence has left an indelible mark on people and on Colombian territory, a situation that is reflected in the living conditions of a high percentage of the population, where essential needs are not met, thus affecting the equitable and fair development of all society. For Colombia to begin building a just and equitable society, it is essential to enter into a modification of the way of resolving conflicts, which have traditionally been solved through violence. The task that must be undertaken to eradicate or minimize violence is to seek mechanisms that modify the culture of violence and that it is transformed into a culture where respect for human dignity and its uniqueness is experienced, from the principles of social justice, that is, that the culture of violence is transformed into a culture of peace. One of the most suitable means for the transformation of a culture of violence into a culture of peace is education. Under this framework, the purpose of the present work is to present a theoretical proposal in which the general elements are given from the approach of the victims for the construction of a chair of peace.
