abstract

  • Parlache is a linguistic phenomenon that emerged in the eighties in Medellín, adopted mainly by young people in marginalized contexts. Following the emergence of this linguistic phenomenon and in general the context of drug trafficking that surrounded it, both academia, literature and cinema have generated a quantity of material in which different representations of this particular use of language are exposed. In this order of ideas, this document aims to explore the representations behind parlache in a context of violence through the films La virgen de los sicarios, La gorra and Los nadie, specifically in the youth of the city of Medellín and Pereira, in order to explore the linguistic codes, signs and expressions of this social dialect, understand how culture and individuals have been influenced, as well as the cinematic representations of this linguistic phenomenon.
