abstract

  • Since the studies on interests associations, in general terms, have concluded thatthese actors haven't influenced too much in the economic field's decisions of the Colombian State, this research has the purpose of analyzing if the colombian dairy's interest groups follow the same route in the results of the free trade agreement's negotiations between Colombia and the European Union. In order to address this issue, this research adopted the model of the multiple venues developed by Adam Sheingate, Frank Baumgartner and Brian Jones, in which the actions of the interest groups are relevant in the different institutions where the public policies are elaborated. Also it was adopted the neopluralist approach because of his emphasis on the influence of the interest groups that have more economic and financial resources. On the other hand, the recognized factors that allowed to this interest groups influence in this process were: the institutions and the responsible agents of the Colombian State to carry out this negotiation; the pressures of other actors; and the division of the dairy's interest groups in the final stages of this negotiation. Finally, it is expected that the fruit of this research contributes to the studies of the colombian interest groups given the little interest that has woken up in the two last decades.
