  • IntroductionThe mining sector is a source of economic and social development in Colombia (La Locomotive mining), this spectrum to study in occupational health is necessary. Objective: To characterize applets preventive and occupational medicine, industrial hygiene and safety companies underground coal mining and determine the association between the risks identified by workers and those established by the company in the department of Cundinamarca. Materials and methodsCross-sectional study, using two types of structured questionnaires: one for business that characterized the state of Occupational Health Program, the other aimed at employees who identified the knowledge of the risks of exposure, use of personal protective and actions by the employer. ResultsDevelopment of Occupational Health Program in Ontario is low, ranging from 25. 26% to 38. 85%. The identification of risk association in extreme temperatures (5. 00%) and use of stab tools (58. 8%) occurred. In use of personal protection and supply partnership mask (60, 00%) and sling (94. 70%) was found. ConclusionsImplementation of state controls that mitigate the risks necessary, is met with good working conditions to reduce accident rates and occupational disease.
