This document reviews the psychoanalytic literature on the mother-child relationship during pregnancy and how it influences the baby 's psychic development. This issue is addressed mainly from the theoretical perspective of Donald Winnicott, Wilfred Bion and Helene Deutsch to achieve a more comprehensive analysis of this bond. The choice of the authors was made taking into account that for them the mother-child bond constitutes a fundamental part in the psycho - affective development of the child, as well as the importance of pregnancy in this process.
