Non-consensual medical interventions and therapies to change the sexual orientation or gender identity of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual, intersexual and queer populations (LGBTIQ population) are not an issue of the past. This chapter analyzes whether such non-consensual medical interventions and therapies can constitute, under the Statute of the Internacional Criminal Court, a crime against humanity of persecution on gender or any other ground universally recognized as impermissible under international law.
