  • This chapter gives an overview of the regime of State responsibility for international wrongful acts. Responsibility in international law is the corollary of any international obligation and the necessary consequence of its breach. The chapter explores the notion of an internationally wrongful act, the elements needed to attribute it to a State through the acts or omission of its agents, the circumstances precluding wrongfulness, and the consequences of responsibility, including reparations.
