Mayra Sáenz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Universidad del Rosario in Colombia. She holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics, with a minor in Gender Relations in International Development (GRID), from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Her research interests include household economics, demographic economics, poverty, inequality, aging, and nutrition, with a focus on exploring the effects of public policy, natural hazards, and family structures on individuals' well-being.
