Sobre la infracción a la Misión Médica en un municipio del Bajo Cauca, en Antioquia en el año 2019: una aproximación a las tensiones en torno a la Misión Médica
Thesis
This thesis seeks to contribute to fill the gap in the academic literature on the tensions around the Medical Mission that have the potential to threaten the well-being of its members. In particular, it proposes to identify aspects of the relationship between the Medical Mission and its environment that may: (i) compromise the perception of neutrality and impartiality of its members; (ii) affect the communication and information processes between the Medical Mission and the population; or (iii) alter the processes of protection of the Medical Mission by the community and that may be possible sources of tension around the Mission. More specifically, the objective of this research work is to investigate the tensions that ended up turning the Medical Mission into a military target in the municipality of Bajo Cauca, Antioquia, and that potentially resulted in the infringement of the Medical Mission in 2019, when armed actors killed a rural doctor.
