This thesis project proposes the design of a solar-powered charging station for electric bicycles in public spaces in Bogotá, in line with global trends towards sustainable mobility and renewable energy. The study addresses the selection of the optimal location, analysis of available solar resources, equipment sizing (solar panels, inverters, and batteries), and an economic analysis evaluating the project's feasibility. Additionally, the environmental benefits, such as the reduction of CO₂ emissions, and the station's contribution to Bogotá’s sustainable mobility infrastructure are highlighted. The project also explores the integration of the charging station with other smart transport solutions, contributing to the development of a greener and more efficient Bogotá.
