Through a historical reconstruction, which makes use of political, social, cultural and testimonial components, the elements that allow the appreciation of the circus as a relevant artistic practice in cultural public policies in Colombia are proposed. The text addresses the tensions, needs and advances of the Colombian circus sector regarding its gestation, management and path.
