abstract

  • This research evaluates the factors that are associated with the perception of applicability of sustainability in their discipline and academic interest in teaching and research in sustainability of the teaching staff of the administration area of UNIMINUTO. In total, 337 professors answered the questionnaire that evaluated the importance of values oriented to interest groups, economic values, the concern of the faculty for sustainability, the perception of the legitimacy of sustainability in business practice, the applicability of sustainability in the discipline and the academic interest in developing teaching and research in sustainability. The results were analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) statistical package, calculating descriptive and inferential statistics, including the Chi-square test for hypothesis validation. The practical implications of the results could influence how sustainability is taught and integrated into academic disciplines and legitimacy in business practice, particularly in business schools and business sciences. The originality and value of this research lies in its unique approach to assessing the perception of professors from various disciplines of the business school, other than the business administration program, which highlights the transversal character of responsible education with a sense of sustainability.
