abstract

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the current scenario of soft skills in cultural management. A literature review is conducted, relying on secondary sources that contribute to knowledge regarding topics such as education, work, culture, cultural management, and soft skills. As a result, some soft skills are presented with the support of a Venn diagram based on the proposal of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), compared to the State Federation of Cultural Management Professionals of Spain (FEAGC) and the International Council of Museums (ICOM). It is evident that creativity, communication (interpersonal communication), cooperation (teamwork), curiosity (learning orientation, training), planning, tolerance, and optimism (self-motivation) are some of the most relevant soft skills in the field of cultural management, as well as in the workplace and education. However, further research is needed since the bibliography is limited, and soft skills may vary according to the context of each region.
