This thesis examines whether the proposal that rich countries should finance poor countries in implementing measures to address some of the challenges of climate change, which was put forward at the Brazil and Glasgow summits, can be ethically and philosophically sustained. The aim is to examine the proposal of effective altruism as a response to this along with the difficulties that may lie in the way of implementing it on a massive scale.
