In the religious community of Krishna consciousness in Bogotá, better known as the Hare Krishna, women have taken on a role of significance and power over the years. This thesis finds the reason for the transformation of religion, where female autonomy does not depend on a patriarchal system, but rather leads to a more liberal cult with respect to traditional religions.
