abstract

  • The proposal titled Plurals of Santander Park addresses the revitalization of Santander Park in Bogotá through the active participation of its permanent residents. The project is framed within the pedagogical approach of care, based on the four phases proposed by Joan Tronto: caring about, taking care of, caregiving, and care receiving. The methodology used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which seeks to involve artisans, street vendors, homeless individuals, and skateboarding groups in the improvement and care of the public space. The main objective is to promote the appropriation and care of Santander Park by strengthening the sense of belonging and knowledge exchange among the current actors in the park. Through various activities, including interviews, exploratory walks, and participatory workshops, the project aims to identify and address the park's needs from the perspective of its residents. The results demonstrate that education and cultural formation are essential to creating a sense of community and collective well-being. The interventions carried out have facilitated spaces for dialogue and cooperation, allowing park actors to learn about its history and contribute their own experiences. The project emphasizes the importance of continuous inclusion and empowerment of all social groups involved for the sustainability of the initiatives. It is concluded that Plurals of Santander Park is a valuable proposal for the revitalization of public space and the strengthening of citizenship, laying the foundations for more harmonious coexistence and a cohesive community.
